Mom-Preneur: Amy Hamberlin { Kati Cupcake - The Quilting Co. - Idaho Falls }

These next few weeks we are featuring some local "Mom-Preneurs" who have started a business doing something they love. If you are a local Mom Preneur and would like to have a spot here on the blog send me an email!

This weeks Mom-Preneur is Amy Hamberlin! I'm sure everyone has seen the Baby Boutique off of 17th... but now they share their space with The Quilting Shoppe! You have GOT to check it out. They have patterns and fabric for: purses, aprons, quilts, children's clothing, and more. They even have sewing classes. I was shocked when I went in there last week. They have gorgeous fabrics. In fact, Amy has her own line! Super nice, and obviously talented woman. Did I mention she even has her own book coming out soon??!

We are excited to show off her stuff on the blog AND to 4 lucky winners! Details are at the end of the post.

(Amy's new fabric line is this top left photo... super cute, huh!)

What is the name of your business? The Quilt Shoppe. But I also have another business (my love) Kati Cupcake pattern co. Named after my mother Kati who I loved and adored for 23 years of my life. Kati Cupcake is a pattern company. I've been so lucky, my first book with liesure arts will hit the shelves this fall (october) my very first fabric line is coming out this month or the first part of Feb.

How long have you been doing this? I've had the Quilt Shoppe for just about 4 years. We moved to IF just 2 months ago. Kati Cupcake is very new. I started last May.

Please explain a little bit about your product/business and how you developed the concept behind it: I started designing quilt patterns, I have a quilt shop and designed things for my shop and just loved doing it. I got brave and started designing bags, got a little braver and have just added childrens clothing to the bunch. I love creating things especially for my almost 5 year old Regan.

What makes your product/business so unique? My designs are a direct reflection of my personality and who I am.

Do you have a store-front/ website/ etsy? Store-front location: The Baby Boutique off of 17th St. Website: www.katicupcake.com also my blog: www.katicupcakequiltingco.blogspot.com

What is the hardest part or have been some of your struggles starting your own business? Working capital and juggling work and home life.

How do you balance your business and your family? It's extremely hard. I have a very supporting husband that really deserves to have a normal wife, but he got me!

What are some of your short and long term goals with your business? My short term goal for Kati Cupcake is to continue doing well and long term I would like to print my own fabric and solicit other designers.

{ Giveaway Details } Amy wants to give away 4 of her most popular patterns: Peggy Sue, Vintage Baby, Gracie Lou, and My Favorite bag.

I have made Vintage Baby and I have to say Amy's patterns are so easy to follow and so well written. She is such a talented lady. The new fabric line is delicious . I can't wait to get my hands on some. I would have to say my favorite is vintage baby, but I do already own it so my second choice would have to be Gracie Lou.
